Introduction
Master Lai has practiced Kung Fu for over 66 years and Qi Gong/Tai Chi for over 55 years. For the past 46 years, he has integrated these systems to develop a unique and powerful Kung Fu/Qi Gong Form. Qi Gong helps calm the mind, release stress, strengthen the immune system, and enhance your natural self-healing abilities. Kung Fu training supports humility, self-control, respect, confidence, balance, body mechanics, natural reflexes, and practical self-defence. It also helps you maximize force, speed, and mind-body coordination.
Workshop Description
Master Lai will teach Kung Fu Butterfly Palm, a special form inspired by Hung Ga and Choi Ga Kung Fu— moving like a butterfly, stinging like a bee, and cultivating the power of a tiger. The workshop begins with gentle, low-impact movements drawn from Tai Chi and Qi Gong. Students will learn the Butterfly Palm form starting with slow, mindful movements—similar to Qi Gong/Tai Chi moving meditation—combined with martial arts foundations. This approach helps calm the mind, relax the body, deepen the breath, activate the inner smile, and use positive visualization to support health, vitality, and natural healing.
As students become comfortable, the practice gradually develops into greater speed, power, and coordination. Participants will explore how to move with better control while strengthening awareness of the bones, joints, and ligaments. The training blends Qi Gong, Tai Chi, and traditional martial arts principles to support overall well-being, vitality, coordination, and practical self-defence skills.
Beginner-friendly. No previous Qi Gong or martial arts experience required.
This workshop is suitable for everyone—even if you prefer not to move quickly. We begin with foundational movements to open the body, tune the energy, and support balance and healing. If you wish to progress toward faster Kung Fu movements, you can do so gradually with Master Lai’s guidance. Many Qi Gong members choose to stay with slower movements, and that is perfectly fine. The goal is to practice safely, stay active, slow the effects of aging, and improve your overall health.
